AI-ready data: Maintaining and structuring data for smarter automation

In this session, we'll walk through practical best practices for capturing, structuring, and maintaining Affinity data so it's ready for AI, using the MCP and Ascend to do the work rather than adding to it.

AI output is only as good as the data behind it. Agents and LLMs can only act on what your CRM actually knows, which means the quality of your fields, lists, and notes now determines the quality of your automation. In this session, we'll walk through practical best practices for capturing, structuring, and maintaining Affinity data so it's ready for AI, using the MCP and Ascend to do the work rather than adding to it.

What we'll cover:

Capturing data without manual entry.

  • Automatic capture with AI Notetaker, entering notes through the MCP when you need to, and handling inbound leads and file management.

Structuring lists that report cleanly.

  • Importing data with the MCP data import skill, building lists through the MCP, and setting field and tagging conventions that hold up over time.

Keeping data current.

  • Using the MCP to surface duplicates, outdated records, and missing fields, applying Ascend data updates, and setting up automations, triggers, and reminders so lists maintain themselves.
