Frequently Asked Questions

Affinity is priced per user per year, billed annually, across four tiers. Essential is $2,000 per user per year, Scale is $2,300, and Advanced is $2,700. Enterprise is custom. Every tier includes automatic email and calendar capture, Relationship Intelligence, the data layer behind AI answers, and regular product releases at no extra cost.

Affinity is priced for the data behind the product, not just the interface on top of it. Every tier includes automated calendar and email activity capture, relationship intelligence, and the data layer that powers accurate AI answers. Subscriptions also include regular product releases at no additional cost, so new AI capabilities and platform updates ship to existing tiers rather than being sold as upgrades, along with security and compliance documentation on request.

All three include automatic activity capture, relationship scoring, firmwide interaction history, and deal pipeline tracking. Scale adds Notetaker, AI Chat, Affinity Ascend agents, the hosted MCP server, and inferred network connections beyond direct email history. Advanced adds Dealroom and Crunchbase enrichment, PitchBook for firms with their own subscription, Company Growth Insights, packaged integrations, Workflow Automations, and Industry Insights.

No. Affinity offers flexible options that let users choose how much of the platform they access. Team-, deal-, and user-level permission settings also let a firm decide what visibility is appropriate to share firmwide. Collaborator seats extend scoped access to people outside the investment team.

No. Affinity gives firms control over what gets captured, not an all-or-nothing choice. Admins can set sync policies at the team level, and individual users can manage what's shared from their own inbox and calendar. For firms in regulated or compliance-sensitive environments, this means relationship intelligence builds automatically without exposing communications that shouldn't be firm-wide visible.

Affinity has thousands of customers, from firms of every size and sector, who use the platform to save time, find opportunities, and close deals. For most, one missed connection that costs a deal, or the hours saved each week from automated workflows and activity capture, more than covers the subscription. Invus Opportunities increased opportunity tracking coverage by more than 40% without adding headcount; Motive Partners reviewed 66% more deals in its first year.

Ascend is part of the plan, not a separate product. Ascend agents, both in the platform and via MCP, are available to every customer on Scale and up at no additional cost. AI capabilities and Affinity Labs are included starting at Essential, and the hosted MCP server that connects Affinity to Claude, Gemini, and Copilot is included from Scale up.

Affinity's AI is embedded throughout the platform, analyzing data, answering questions, and surfacing relationship context through AI Chat, Notetaker, SmartSearch, relationship strength scoring, and more. Ascend goes a step further. Instead of surfacing information for someone to act on, Ascend agents complete the task themselves, updating records, drafting follow-ups, flagging deals that need attention, working in the background rather than waiting to be asked.

Scale and Advanced include 100K API calls per month; Enterprise includes unlimited calls, and MCP queries count against the same allowance. There are no separate caps on AI features themselves. If your team is running heavy AI-driven workflows, Enterprise removes the ceiling entirely.

Standard onboarding is included with every subscription, covering data import, field mapping, and historical relationship data. Firms that need additional customization, such as complex data migration or custom field mapping, can add scoped onboarding support, priced by the account team against what the firm actually needs. Nothing is quoted as a mandatory implementation fee.

Most firms are fully live on Affinity within 60 days, with the entire firm's network mapped in the first 24 hours. Legacy CRM migrations are commonly scoped in quarters. White-glove support handles the data import, field mapping, and historical relationship data rather than leaving the firm to reconstruct it, so nothing is left behind and no one starts from a blank system.

Switching CRMs has real costs beyond the subscription. Firms typically weigh downtime migrating data, syncing inboxes, calendars, and meeting history, rebuilding fields and workflows to match how the firm operates, and training admins and users alongside any onboarding, integration, or consulting fees. Purpose-built CRMs work out of the box for private capital, so most of those costs shrink or disappear and users see value in days.
